Medieval Times

One of the things our troop did with the cookie money is go to Medieval Times..I believe this was the first for everyone..I have to say the food was outstanding! Half a chicken, ribs, and potatoes...Oh! and tomato soup and garlic bread..For dessert an apple pastry, and then cake..Holy Moly! It was delish! The entertainment wasn't half bad either..The girls really had a great time.

Raquel brought along her "Oshowatt, Poke'mon"..She made a sword and shield for it..He had to get into character as well.. We were standing in line, waiting to get in the building..This is a before picture of  me and my lovey, all happy!

 And here is the after picture..LOL..Raquel was not a happy camper having that crown on her head..Such a sport..But she did cheer up later on..

 Before the show the kids got to learn how to use a sword. The quality of  this picture isn't very good..The flash didn't pick it up very well..And then My camera pooped out on me..It pretty much had seen it's last days. So I couldn't take anymore pictures..Very sad for me. I did get some pictures from my friends..

There you see Raquel, with her sword. Can you find Her? I did buy her a new Sword package(helmet, shields) as a souvenir..I don't normally do that, but this was a special day...Joey and Raquel love to play sword fighting..I just wish I had a picture of her with the gear on..

And here we are...We rooted for the Yellow team.. It was certainly a great fieldtrip..

Build A Bear

This was our last week of Brownies before summer vacation. Shannon and the girls joined our troop for a celebration at "Build A Bear".

The kids had a good time at the store, but I don't think I'll ever want to go there again.. What a waste of $! It's like buying clothes for your kids.. It's so expensive..

4th Of July Parade 09

July, so far, has been a bit busy and hot! On 4th of July My troop and the cubscouts were in the Mira Mesa parade again. It was a beautiful, breezy day. Not that hot at all. We were pretty lucky with our Weather.

There's my boy, marching away!And here is my girl marching, or let me put it this way, complaining in the parade. She really doesn't like walking in the parades.. She complains her feet hurt and she's tired.. It's really not that long of a walk. But she made it through!

"Around the World"

Here was our last Formal Gscout meeting of the year. Next school year my Girls will be in their last year of Brownies. It was a very successful, fun year for me and for the troop. Raquel has become a little more confident as the years go by. We'll see what the next year brings to her.

Our last tryit was called "Around the World". Each girl brought in a dish from their country, and had to share it with the troop. Raquel did a fantastic job speaking clearly and loudly about her dish. We made a Peruvian dish that I wasn't totally confident about making, but it turned out ok. Now I forget what it was called. Raquel prounced it so well that you know she's a part of the peruvian world.

Along for the ride

Shannon and the girls came all the way to SD to go see a Junior Theatre play with me, Raquel and some of my Gscouts.. We had to go downtown for the show. But trying to find this theatre was like trying to find a needle in a haystack.(i'm sounding like my mom, sis and honey at the moment, with their cliche's). I was not a happy camper trying to find this place..The setting takes place in a mall at Horton Plaza.. I could never live down there..Busy and just: Busy city.

We finally made to the theatre on time. I had to call a friend for directions.. It was very sunny down below so the girls had a hard time smilng.

Shannon has more pics of inside the theatre..She needs to send them to me so I can post them up here. Inside watching the play was a lot of fun for all the kids. Even Rylee enjoyed it. Before the play actually started Rylee decided to lose a sandal. All the girls and parents were on a sandal hunt. It was just crazy and funny. Lo and behold the sandal was located in one of my parents seat. We found it after she got up for the break.

Oh yes! The play was called "You're a good Man Charlie Brown" Very cute..The cast was great and a lot of fun to watch.

Hike & Site Selling

This was another busy day for us Salcedo's..First off, we went on a little trail hike with our troop. It was such a nice day. We saw lots of nature. Joey and Raquel enjoyed taking pictures of the scenery and mostly bugs.

We came upon a ton of caterpillars..Joey was afraid to step anywhere, thinking he might step on one..

After the hike we went to Joey's soccer practice, then Raquel and I had a cookie site sell we had to go to. Vons was a great place to sell. We did great there! Sold tons of cookies. The girls were so cute..Dancing around and singing..Raquel did a lot of singing..She made me laugh so much.
